Custody, embedded in your platform.

Through TransactAPI, platforms and intermediaries open North Capital Private Securities (NCPS) custody accounts directly on their websites, so investors can invest, get paid, reinvest, and trade without ever leaving your experience.

Why it matters

Every time an investor leaves your site, you risk losing them.

Sending investors to third parties to open accounts, move cash, and settle trades adds friction, increases drop-off, and weakens your relationship with them. Embedded custody keeps the entire investor lifecycle on your platform.

What embedded accounts do

One account, the full investor lifecycle

Open accounts on your website

Investors open NCPS custody accounts inside your platform through TransactAPI, with integrated KYC and AML checks.

Consolidate cap tables

Positions are held under a single NCPS FBO structure, so each issuer on your platform has one holder of record instead of a fragmented cap table.

Receive investor distributions

Issuers pay distributions directly into investor custody accounts, without having to process large batches of payments to individual bank accounts.

Keep cash in your ecosystem

Accounts act as wallets for cash. Distributions and sale proceeds stay on your platform, ready to be redeployed into future offerings.

Facilitate trade settlement

When investors buy and sell, the same accounts facilitate settlement of both cash and securities, so you can support secondary activity if your platform needs it.

Keep the relationship

Investors never leave your site to open, fund, or manage their accounts. Your brand stays front and center, and you reduce drop-off at every step.

Illustrative example

One investor's journey on an embedded platform

Consider a hypothetical investment platform where pre-IPO companies raise growth capital from a broad base of investors, with North Capital custody integrated through TransactAPI. Here's how a single investor's account supports every stage.

01
Opens an account on the platform

A new investor signs up on the platform’s website and opens an NCPS custody account in the same flow, completing KYC and AML checks without being redirected elsewhere.

02
Invests in a growth round

The investor participates in a late-stage company’s growth round alongside hundreds of other investors. Their shares are held in custody, so the company’s cap table shows a single holder of record instead of one line per investor, keeping it clean ahead of an eventual IPO.

03
Sells part of the position

Before the IPO, the investor sells some shares to another investor on the platform. Because both parties hold NCPS custody accounts, the accounts facilitate settlement of cash and securities, and the sale proceeds stay in the investor’s account.

04
Reinvests without leaving

Instead of leaving the platform, the cash sits in the investor’s account like a wallet. When another pre-IPO company opens a growth round on the platform, the investor reinvests those funds in a few clicks.

05
Receives proceeds at a liquidity event

When one of the companies is later acquired, proceeds are paid directly into investor custody accounts. The company doesn’t need its bank to send hundreds of individual payments, and investors can redeploy the cash into the next opportunity.

The result

Pre-IPO companies get consolidated cap tables and a simpler way to pay investors at a liquidity event. Investors get one account for investing, trading, reinvesting, and getting paid. The platform keeps investors, and their cash, in its own ecosystem.

This is a hypothetical example for illustration only. It does not describe an actual North Capital client or investment results.
