The NCPS Institutional Intermediaries Team was created as an independent, third-party distribution group with a national footprint. The II Team is designed to forge effective partnerships with asset managers to distribute their products through traditional distribution channels.
North Capital Private Securities markets products through wirehouses, insurance companies, independent broker/dealers, trust departments, regional broker/dealers, family offices and registered investment advisors. The II Team has deep wholesale relationships that reach into individual branches and advisory teams.
As a founding partner of the II Team, Mr. Matyas brings nearly 30 years of financial industry experience to the firm and is focused on National Accounts and Sales Management. Most recently Mr. Matyas was the Managing Director, National Retail Sales for AlphaMetrix, where he raised nearly $500,000,000 of AUM in Managed Futures strategies. Under Mr. Matyas’ leadership, AlphaMetrix was the leader in alternative asset sales at Wells Fargo in 2011, and a second in 2012. In 1992 Mr. Matyas began his financial career as a wholesaler for Fidelity Investments, subsequently working for Goldman Sachs, Invesco and Curian Capital. During this span of 22 years as a wholesaler Mr. Matyas has raised over $7 billion in AUM for the firms he has represented.
Outside of his professional career, Mr. Matyas has tutored for the Cabrini Green Tutoring Program for 7 years and has served on their Board for 3 years. He has previously served on the Board of the St. Rene de Goupil School and as a junior board member of the Chicago Film Festival. He is currently President of the Diamond Dreams Baseball organization. Mr. Matyas graduated with a BA in Business Administration from St. Xavier University and hold Series 7 and 63 licenses.
Richard A. Matyas, Jr.
As a founding partner of the II Team, Rich is responsible for internal sales and operations. Richard has a 20 plus year career in the financial services industry. Prior to joining North Capital Private Securities, he was in charge of internal sales and marketing at AlphaMetrix. He also served as Vice President Sales at LaSalle St. Securities, Inc. and was a Partner at AIR, a third party marketing firm that focused on investment banking services and financial wholesaling. Mr. Matyas has traded futures at the CBOT in the 30-year treasury bond pit, and has traded both futures and equities as a proprietary trader.
Outside of his financial career, Rich played professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization. He has coached and served as a board member for the Illinois Sparks youth travel baseball and as a Board Member of the Diamond Dreams Baseball organization. Mr. Matyas also helped found the Hickey Cooper Pitching Clinics with Kevin Hickey and Don Cooper of the Chicago White Sox, which led to the formation of a Special Needs Baseball event in collaboration with the Illinois Sparks. The event has served over 1,000 special needs adults and children over the past 10 years. Mr. Matyas graduated with a BA in Finance from St. Xavier University in 1988. He also holds Series 7, 55, and 63 licenses.
